A New Gate in Jerusalem!

Amichai and Rina Ariel, the parents of 13-year-old Hallel Yaffa Ariel, went up to the Temple Mount on Tuesday morning July 12th, along with numerous friends and supporters to dedicate and rename the Mughrabi gate to Hallel Gate. Roughly between 600-1,000 people came from all over Israel to show their support for the Temple Mount and the Ariel family.

The Mount, which was the site of the First and Second Temples and is the holiest site in Judaism, remains under the de facto control of the Jordanian Waqf despite having been liberated in the 1967 Six Day War. The Waqf bans Jews from praying at the site and imposes harsh limitations and discrimination at the holy site. Read more

Israeli Activist May Golan: Temple Mount and Tel Aviv

45,711 refugees and asylum seekers live in Israel as of April 2015, of which 92% are from Eritrea or Sudan. Many of them are Muslim fanatics and have caused a serious problem in Southern Tel-Aviv where many of them have been settled by the Israeli government.

May Golan has been campaigning for this serious issue of the lawlessness of Southern Tel-Aviv due to the refugees and asylum seekers to be covered by the mainstream leftist dominated media for years. Thanks to her perseverance, it has become a hot issue picked up by the political parties all the way to the Prime Ministers Office.

May Golan and her genuine passion shines through in all of her media contributions, not just to fight for the poor and downtrodden peoples of South Tel Aviv – but for all Jews that care to maintain and if necessary fight for the State of Israel to remain the established home of the Jewish people.

May Golan has founded the “The Hebrew City” movement in which she fights for the Jewish identity of Southern Tel-Aviv.

For Zion Sake למען ציון

In the past, Jews have had to defend their faith against empires that sought their destruction. Like the Maccabees1 who stood up for what they believed was true even against all odds. They would not submit to the attack against their faith, customs and Torah. With a righteous indignation against such an attack, the Maccabees stood up against the Greeks and fought a holy war of resistance that was for Zion’s sake.

The same was the case during the Jewish resistance against the Romans, who sought similar religious sanctions against the Jewish faith. The motto of the Jewish revolt against the Romans was “for Zion’s sake” from Isaiah 62:1. This phrase was minted on top of the Roman “Judea Captured” coin[i] that bore the symbol of Judea’s defeat to the Romans.

What neither the Greeks nor the Romans could know was that they were actually fighting a losing battle. At the time, their victory over the Jewish “religious fanatics” that just wouldn’t conform to the winds of change seemed assured. However, neither the Greeks nor the Romans have survived as empires, and their greatness is no longer. Today their memories remain in museums, historic art, and ruins, while the Jews are still here and becoming stronger as a people. The Jews who have the heart of the Maccabees have stood the test of time.

Today, a similar challenge is set before us by Europe and America, as they attempt to conform Israel and the Jewish people to their standards, their ideas of government, etc. However, at the core of the conflict today between Israel and the rest of the world stands the issue of Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount (aka Mount Zion) the so called “status quo.”[ii] Similarly to the time of Antiochus IV Epiphanies when the Temple became the center of his conflict with the Jews. Bill: Allow Jews to pray on Temple Mount

MK Bezalel Smotrich’s bill to ensure full freedom of access, worship to every religion at every Israeli holy site – Temple Mount included.

By Tova Dvorin

MK Bezalel Smotrich (Jewish Home) submitted a bill demanding that Jews be allowed freedom of worship on the Temple Mount this week, hoping to pave the way for full religious freedom at Judaism’s holiest site.

The bill effectively would demand that Israel’s religious freedom laws include full access of worship to every holy site in the country with regard to all religions – including the Mount.

While Israel technically guarantees freedom of religion, the law has a “lacuna” which “does not protect, specifically, freedom of worship and freedom of access.” Read more
