Labor and Likud MKs jointly push new bill for Jewish Prayer on Temple Mount

In an exciting development, Ynet News reported that: “Labor and Likud MKs have joined forces on a new bill that proposes to allow Jews to pray at the Temple Mount compound – for the first time since the destruction of the Second Temple, as Jews are currently barred from praying at the site.


“MK Miri Regev (Likud) and MK Hilik Bar (Labor) are expected to introduce the bill for discussion in the Knesset. It aims to extend freedom of worship on the Temple Mount to the level allowed in Hebron’s Cave of the Patriarchs, where Jews and Muslims share the holy site.  Read more

Arab Knesset Members Declare Temple Mount for Muslims Only

“The Arab Raam-Taal party in the Knesset held a meeting on Monday with all its members…At the conclusion of the meeting, an announcement summarizing the contents was distributed in Arabic to the media, and included several important points.

The first statement declared that Jews have no right to enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque, namely the Temple Mount – the holiest site in Judaism.

“The blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is the holy property of the Muslims only,” wrote the Arab MKs, who added that they oppose propositions in the Knesset to divide the site between Jews and Muslims by setting areas and times for each group’s usage.”

Israeli Committee on Temple Mt Prayer “Is Missing Its Goal”

“The recommendations of the Interior Committee’s sub-committee on Jewish prayer rights at the Temple Mount is to be published on Monday.

Reportedly the recommendations will suggest preserving the status quo on the site, by which the Jordanian Waqf (Islamic trust) has enjoyed a de facto rule over the holiest site in Judaism since the 1967 Six Day War, and has banned Jewish visitors from praying.

Committee Member MK Zevulun Kalfa (Jewish Home) opposes the recommendations, which were submitted by members of his Jewish Home party, saying the Committee is missing its goal.” … Read More on Israel National News.
